The chest is found in Osmumten's burial chamber in the Tombs of Amascut raid, and can be searched for rewards after defeating Tumeken's Warden and Elidinis' Warden.

The rewards from the chest vary; like the Chambers of Xeric chest and the Monumental chest from the Theatre of Blood, the rewards inside are based on performance in the raid. In addition to performance, better rewards can be generally obtained with a higher raid level.

If the player leaves the raid without claiming the loot from the chest, they can reclaim them by opening the Rewards Niche in the south-eastern corner of the lobby.

Loot mechanics

Rewards are determined by a point system. Players receive room points in each room of the raid (capped at 20,000 room points), which are then added to their total reward points (capped at 64,000 total points) upon room completion. The point system works as follows:

  • Players start the raid with 5,000 total reward points.
  • Room points are awarded per damage dealt to every NPC in the raid. For most NPCs, 1 damage dealt equates to 1 room point. Some NPCs give bonus points while some NPCs give no points, as shown below:
NPC Multiplier
Warden's Core 0x
Apmeken's Path baboons 1.2x
Ba-Ba 2x
Zebak 1.5x
Kephri's scarabs 0.5x
Het's Seal 2.5x
Obelisk 1.5x
Wardens (P2) 2x
Wardens (P3) 2.5x
  • If a player scores the most room points in their party for a room, they will be given an MVP bonus of to their total points upon room completion.
  • If a player dies, they will lose 20% of their total reward points, with a minimum of 1,000 points.
  • At the end of the raid, the starting 5,000 points are subtracted when calculating loot and purple percentage.[1]

Uniques

Players will have a 1% chance to receive a unique item for every total reward points, where is the sum of raid levels from 1 to 400, and is the sum of raid levels from 401 to 550. Although the unique drop chances are effectively capped at raid level 550, raid levels above that do slightly improve drop rates due to the enemies having more health, provided that the player(s) can complete the raid at that level.

For example, at raid level 430, players will have a 1% chance for every points earned.

If a unique item is rolled, Osmumten's sarcophagi will glow purple rather than white, and the player who receives the item will have their corresponding chest emptied, as the common drop rolls are not made for them. Upon interacting with the sarcophagus, a short cutscene will play where it is opened before revealing the drop.

If a player successfully rolls for a unique that is outside its associated raid level - indicated by the greyed out unique item icons in the Invocation menu during raid setup - then the game performs an additional 1/50 roll. If this roll succeeds, the raid level restriction is ignored and the player receives the item. If it fails, an untradeable tertiary item is received instead.

For players raiding with other players, the total points of the entire group are used to determine which player will receive a unique, with the % chance being directly equivalent to the % points the player contributed to the total. In case a player disconnects or leaves the raid before it is completed, their points will still be counted when the overall unique chance for the group is determined.[2]

Similarly to the ancient chest from the Chambers of Xeric, the unique drop rate is capped, with a maximum rate of 55% to see a unique at the end of the raid. Excess points will not contribute towards a second roll, however.

Common rewards

If the player does not receive a unique reward from the raid, then their corresponding chest will be sealed. A key-shaped icon will appear by the chest indicating which one the player can open. Three rolls are also made on the common drop table. The quantity of the items from the three rolls appears to use the following formula,

where X is the total amount of reward points earned from the raid (which is hidden from the player), and the item divisor's value depending on the item rewarded in the following way:

Tertiary rewards

The chance of receiving a thread of Elidinis or one of the three keris partisan jewels is determined by a base rate that linearly interpolates to three times their base rate depending on kill count. The base rate for the thread is 1/10, and the base rate for a specific jewel is 1/180, or 1/60 for any jewel.[3]

At 0 kill count, the chance of receiving one of these items is their base drop rate, each raid completed without receiving one of these uniques will increase their drop rate until it is received. Specifically, a kill count equivalent to 1.5x their base drop rate denominator will make the chances three times as likely. For example, at 0 kill count, players will have a 1/10 chance to receive the thread of Elidinis. However, at 15 kill count, they will have a 3/10 chance instead. Likewise, the drop rate for any remaining jewel scales from 1/60 up to 3/60, (or 1/20), after reaching a kill count of 270.[4]

Players cannot receive duplicate jewels until all of the jewels are first obtained, as long as the player either has the jewel or the partisan in their possession.

The pet, Tumeken's guardian, is determined similarly to uniques but with different base values. Players will have a 1% chance to receive the pet for every total reward points, where is the number of raid levels less than or equal to 400, and is the number of raid levels from 400 to 550. Raid levels above 550 do not contribute to increasing pet chance, effectively capping pet drop chances at raid level 550.

Rather than reverting to the base rate of 1/10, the drop rate of the thread of Elidinis is set to 1/50 after one has been received for the first time.[5][6]

Challenge rewards

Meeting certain challenge requirements will always give the player the corresponding reward, detailed below.

Each of these challenges includes the requirement that there are zero deaths for all party members. The game will check the player's inventory, worn equipment and bank to see if the base or modified item is in their possession; if it does, then the roll is canceled. If it is not, then the game will generate one for the player; as such, the drop trick can be used to obtain multiple items.

Only one pet transmog can be obtained per person, per raid. If the requirements for multiple remnants are met, the following order of priority determines which one is awarded: Akkha, Zebak, Ba-Ba, Kephri, Ancient.[7]

Uniques

The chance of getting a unique depends on how much the player has contributed to the raid and also on the raid level. If one of these items is received, no common rewards are given. Tertiary rewards are still obtainable.

Once the game has chosen whether to give a unique item, an item is chosen from the table below with the following probabilities.

  1. ^ The first thread of Elidinis possesses a Bad luck mitigation mechanic, where its rarity scales linearly until it is three times as common when the player's total raid completion count reaches 1.5 times the base rate denominator. In other words, the thread of Elidinis has a drop rate of 1/3.33 at 15 completions. This does not apply anymore when the player has received it at least once, after which the drop rate is set to 1/50.[8]
  2. ^ 2.0 2.1 2.2 The three jewels possess a bad luck mitigation mechanic, where their rarity scales linearly until they are three times as common when the player's total raid completion count reaches 1.5 times the base rate denominator. In other words, the drop rate of any given jewel scales from 1/180 up to 3/180 after reaching a kill count of 270.
  3. ^ 3.0 3.1 3.2 There is a 1/60 chance to get any Keris partisan jewel. If the player is missing one or more of the three jewels, they will be guaranteed to receive an unobtained one upon successfully rolling for a jewel. This effectively changes the rarity of unowned jewels to 1/120 and 1/60 when owning one or two unique jewels respectively. When the player owns all three jewels already, this mechanic does not apply. Half of the player-base will have received the first jewel by raid completion 38, second by 87 and third by 130
