The humidify spell will fill all empty water-carrying vessels in a player's inventory with a single cast including: buckets, fishbowls, jugs, vials, watering cans (including Gricoller's can), unwatered saplings, waterskins, bowls, and clay. It yields 65 experience per cast regardless of the number of vessels filled. It can also be used to extinguish the wall of flames in the Chambers of Xeric when fighting Great Olm or to refill waterskins in the Kharidian Desert instead of needing to cut cacti. To use this spell, a player must have completed Dream Mentor.

A steam battlestaff, or staff of water and tome of fire or vice versa can be used for maximum efficiency. It can be used to train Magic while making profit from some of the items below:

To maximise experience per hour with this spell, put a fishbowl underneath the spell (similar to High Level Alchemy) and to the "F1" and "F6" keys (or custom F-keys) to switch between spellbook and inventory. Left-click empties the fishbowl. Casting High Level Alchemy is always cheaper when alchemising profitable items while this method always results in loss. Upon hearing the sound effect, all vessels have been filled.

Casting this spell while holding an empty waterskin in the desert is a requirement for the hard Desert diary.

Saplings

Because it is time consuming and gives little to no experience, planting tree seeds in filled plant pots to grow saplings is often skipped in favour of buying the saplings directly from the Grand Exchange. This opens up an opportunity to grow saplings for profit. Like all methods involving large amounts of buying and selling, which require a relatively high capital to start, it is recommended to test the market by growing one sapling first to make sure it is profitable.

To plant the seeds in the pots, use one of them on the other with a gardening trowel in your inventory. This produces a seedling. When all the plant pots are filled with seeds, cast Humidify to water them. These watered seedlings will take approximately five minutes to turn into saplings, but this will happen even when banked. Repeating this process quickly will make around 1,700 saplings an hour.

Please note that tree seeds have a relatively low buying limit, so you may want to stock up on them beforehand, or grow several different trees at once.
