Kruk is a commander monkey and the captain of the Monkey Guard, a unit of sword-wielding ninja monkeys. He is located in Marim on Ape Atoll, atop the cliff east of the entry gates, which he shouts to be opened when the player (in their monkey form) approaches. Despite having a combat level, he cannot be attacked until a certain stage in Monkey Madness II, nor does he attack the player if they unequip their greegree; he simply knocks them unconscious instead and transports them to the Marim jail.

To reach Kruk, go up the incline on the west cliff (there is a fenced opening). Head to the ladder at the end, cross the bridge, and go down the other ladder. He is bigger than the other ninja monkeys. Duke replaces Kruk during and after the events of Monkey Madness II.

Quests

Monkey Madness I

Kruk plays a minor role in Monkey Madness I. The player must speak to him to be escorted to King Awowogei and continue the quest.

Monkey Madness II

In Monkey Madness II, the player, after successfully navigating through Kruk's Dungeon, defeats him and takes his paw to make a Kruk greegree. It is then revealed that Kruk has been secretly helping Glough with his experiments, capturing monkeys for him to use as specimens. When the player, impersonating Kruk, informs Awowogei of the failed plans that they sabotaged, he strips Kruk of his ranks and duties and later replaces him with Duke.

Strategy

An example location to flinch Kruk.

It is possible to safespot and kill Kruk with minimal to no damage by flinching him with melee. Lure Kruk north-west against the cave wall, then run behind the corner.

When being fought, Kruk's melee and ranged attacks are very powerful, capable of dealing 30+ damage each.
