The rune battleaxe is the fourth strongest battleaxe in RuneScape, with zombie axe being the strongest, followed by the leaf-bladed battleaxe and the dragon battleaxe. Like most rune weapons, it requires 40 Attack to wield.

Players may make a rune battleaxe with 95 Smithing by using 3 rune bars at an anvil with a hammer, giving the player 225 Smithing experience.

Any monster that has access to the rare drop table can also drop the rune battleaxe.
