Iban's staff is a staff used to cast Iban Blast. It is obtained by defeating the evil mage Iban at the end of the Underground Pass quest. Iban's staff requires 50 Magic and 50 Attack to wield. Casting Iban Blast on a monster consumes one charge from the staff and casting it on another player consumes two charges. Casting other spells, like Fire Blast, does not consume any charges.

If Iban's staff is lost Koftik will give a broken staff to the player at the entrance to the Underground Pass. It must then be brought to the Dark Mage with 200,000 coins to repair it.

The Dark Mage in West Ardougne will upgrade an Iban's staff to an Iban's staff (u) for 200,000 coins, which increases the charges it holds to 2,500 instead of 120 and fully charges the staff. A broken Iban's staff can also be repaired and upgraded at the same time for 400,000 coins.

The maximum hit with Iban Blast is 25, making it excellent for low-level player killing and Barrows.

If Iban's staff is lost in PvP under level 20 Wilderness, it will be dropped to the ground and can be picked back up.

Upgrading Iban's staff or wielding an Iban's staff (u) is a medium Ardougne Diary task.

As a melee weapon, the Iban staff is equivalent to a mystic staff.

Recharging

An Iban's staff or its upgraded variant can be recharged for free by using it on the well where the paladin's badges are dropped in the Underground Pass (not the Well of Voyage that you may first come to). Players can reach the exit by teleporting to Lletya using a teleport crystal, by travelling to fairy ring BJS with 76 Agility (after completion of Regicide), or by chartering a ship to Port Tyras from Brimhaven (after completion of Regicide). Another method is by using the Abyss to enter the Death Altar and exiting to the bottom of the Underground Pass.

The quickest way to return to the well is through the Underground Pass exit, north of Lletya. Bringing some form of antipoison is highly recommended. Upon entering the Pass, climb down the well then go over the agility obstacles before passing through the door to the north-east where you will arrive at the well. Using the staff on the well will allow players to charge it. To return to the well from West Ardougne, you will need a bow, arrow(s), a spade, a plank (can be obtained), a tinderbox, and rope(s) to go through the Underground Pass the long way.

Alternatively, players can pay the Dark Mage in West Ardougne 100,000 coins to charge the standard staff or 250,000 coins to charge the upgraded staff.

Trivia

  • Every time the player equips Iban's staff, the game chat will state You equip the staff of Iban.
  • Players can obtain multiple staves by using the drop trick when killing a Disciple of Iban to collect multiple broken Iban's staff which can all be repaired. However, all duplicate staves share the same charges.
