Thammaron's sceptre is a powered staff requiring 60 Magic to wield, available as a drop from revenants. It was once owned by Thammaron, a Tsutsaroth demon who was one of Zamorak's most trusted allies during the reign of Zaros, and later one of his key generals during the God Wars. This item counts as a Zamorakian item in the God Wars Dungeon.
The sceptre shares the same magic attack bonus as the trident of the seas, and has a powerful passive effect within the Wilderness when charged with revenant ether. In addition, unlike other powered staves, the sceptre can attack players outside of minigames. The sceptre also has a "Swap" option that allows players to switch it to Thammaron's sceptre (a), which is a variant that can autocast offensive combat spells from the standard spellbook (including Flames of Zamorak) and the Ancient Magicks.
The sceptre can be upgraded to an accursed sceptre by attaching the skull of Vet'ion to it, requiring level 85 Crafting or paying Phabelle Bile 500,000 coins. Players can also dismantle an uncharged sceptre to receive 7,500 revenant ether, resulting in 1,335,000 coins and a loss of −1,366,949 coins.

Charging
In order to use the sceptre's magic spell or passive effect, it must be charged with revenant ether, holding up to 17,000 charges when fully charged. The first 1,000 ether (costing 178,000 coins) act as an activation deposit before the built-in spell or passive effect can be used. The built-in spell and passive effect consume 1 charge, and will only consume from charges beyond the first 1,000 ether. There is no additional cost for using the built-in spell and activating the passive effect at the same time. Using the Check option on the sceptre will display the amount of usable charges remaining, not including the activation deposit, up to the usable limit of 16,000.
The hourly cost of constantly using this weapon's built-in spell is 1,500 ether (267,000 coins). The hourly cost of casting other spells is 1,200 ether (213,600 coins), as spells can only be cast every 5 game ticks.
The ether can be safely removed (including the activation deposit) by selecting the right-click Uncharge option on the sceptre, after which the sceptre becomes tradeable again.
Passive effect
When Thammaron's sceptre is charged, an additional 50% magic accuracy and damage boost is applied when attacking any NPC in the Wilderness, consuming 1 ether per attack whether the player hits or not. It is also applied to any combat spells cast when it is equipped, though it cannot autocast them when using the staff's built in spell.
This effect will stack with a slayer helmet (i) or a Salve amulet(i) and their variants, but not both simultaneously. This makes the sceptre the second best magic weapon in the Wilderness after the accursed sceptre, surpassing the damage output of a trident of the seas or swamp with the additional capability of attacking any hostile players, something which both tridents are incapable of doing.
Death
Upon death within the Wilderness, any revenant ether stored within the sceptre will always be dropped, even if the sceptre is one of the player's protected items. Because of this, despite the sceptre being able to store a maximum of 17,000 revenant ether, it is recommended to store the minimum amount required for a trip into the Wilderness (in addition to the 1,000 ether required to activate the weapon). This mechanic is not indicated on the Items Kept on Death interface.
Maximum hit
The maximum hit dealt by the sceptre is dependent on the player's current visible Magic level. The formula is as follows:

Trivia
- Upon release, Thammaron's sceptre had a starting Grand Exchange price of 10,000,000 coins. This was manually adjusted to 20,000,000 coins on 1 August after frequent luring in the Wilderness via dropping items whose prices on the Grand Exchange were more than the sceptre itself. As the game prioritises the protection of items that have the highest price on the Grand Exchange, the player may end up losing the sceptre by picking up an item worth slightly more than the sceptre on the Grand Exchange, which was worth around 45 million coins at the time.
- Thammaron's sceptre, alongside the accursed sceptre, are almost weightless which is unique compared to other powered staves.
