Battlestaves are combined melee and magical weapons which can be used in combat. They are primary used for casting combat spells, having +2 more Magic Attack bonuses compared to standard staves, although they also have Melee Attack bonuses.

On top of their melee capabilities, battlestaves allow the wielder to autocast spells and also provide an unlimited supply of runes according to their name (for example, a fire battlestaff replaces the need for fire runes when it is equipped).

Battlestaves can be upgraded to mystic staves by paying Thormac 40,000 coins (30,000 if the player has completed the hard Kandarin Diary, or 20,000 if the player has completed the elite Kandarin Diary).
