The rod of Ivandis is a weapon used to kill Vampyre Juveniles and Vampyre Juvinates once the In Aid of the Myreque quest is complete. It is created by casting Lvl-1 Enchant on a silvthrill rod and then dipping the enchanted rod into the well at Paterdomus with rope. A silvthrill rod can be created by using a sapphire, mithril bar and silver bar on a furnace with a rod mould in the inventory. A fully charged rod of Ivandis has 10 charges. It is for all intents a magic staff (with which it shares the same stats) and therefore can be used to autocast magic spells.

The rod of Ivandis features in A Taste of Hope, in which it is used along with a chain and an enchanted emerald sickle (b) to make the Ivandis flail. The Ivandis flail and its upgraded version are the only weapons that can be used to damage Vyrewatch.

The rod of Ivandis is a reconstruction of the one used by Ivandis Seergaze, one of the Seven Priestly Warriors.

If you lost this item and require it for A Taste of Hope, you don't have to make a new one. During the quest, after speaking with Safalaan and Vertida in the new hideout (under Old Man Ral's house), read Flaygian's notes. Then go back to Veliaf Hurtz in the basement of the Burgh de Rott pub. From there, you can continue with the quest and make the Ivandis flail.

Special attack

A player performs the rod of Ivandis' special attack, Retainer.

The rod of Ivandis has a special attack, Retainer, which traps a Vampyre Juvenile or Vampyre Juvinate that has less than 50% hitpoints remaining, preventing it from retaliating for 30 seconds. This consumes 10% of the player's special attack energy.

Each special attack consumes one charge from the rod. After all charges have been used, the player will be left with rod dust in their weapon slot.

Even if the attack fails to activate, stating either This spell can only be used on vampyre juveniles or vampyre juvinates. or This spell only works against vampyres with less than half of their health remaining., it will still incur the normal attack delay, so take care not to accidentally use it in those circumstances.

Treasure Trails

The rod of Ivandis is the item Falo requires players to show him when he sings about: Vampyres are agile opponents, damaged best with a weapon of many components. Alternatively, an Ivandis flail or blisterwood flail can be used.
